Where to find helpful settings in Jabber on the PC

    • Calendar Integration – during installation, we sync Jabber with our Google Calendars so Jabber can show your availability. To turn that off, change it to None.

    • Choose whether to start calls with video, On by default
    • Choose if you want the notification for a new call coming to come to the front of all open windows
  • Status
    • Choose when you want Jabber to show you as away or in a meeting
  • Location
    • Choose whether you want Jabber to show your general location (ex. Home or Work). You can also create custom locations.
  • Notifications
    • Set your visual and audio notification preferences for Chat & Calls
  • Video Device
    • Connect to nearest device automatically – off by default
  • Privacy
    • Choose who can see your status – all or no one. Separate settings for those within and outside Williams.
  • Accounts
    • Server settings for both Chat and Calls

    • Closing or Exiting the Jabber window will not sign you out of Jabber. Sometimes we will ask you to sign out and back in again if you are having issues with it.
