Audio/video (mic/webcam) recording is valuable for performative tasks such as student proficiency with arts (e.g. dance, form, etc.) or languages (e.g. pronunciation, conversation, etc.).
NOTE: For information about recording screen capture in addition to audio/video, please see How should my students record a video screen capture?
Students with smart phones, tablets, and laptops
Smart phones, tablets, and laptops typically come with microphones and cameras built in, as well as pre-installed apps to use them.
Your students can share their recordings by uploading them to Google Drive (there is no storage limit), and then share the file with specific people or create a shareable link. You could also create a Glow Assignment or Discussion that allows your students to use the Record/Upload Media tools either through a web browser or the Canvas mobile app.
Students with desktop computers and mic/webcams
If your students only have a desktop computer but also have access to a microphone and camera, then they could use the built-in audio/video recording tools in Glow (Canvas).
