October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Held every October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and education to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.

The theme “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” encourages positive behavior change online by taking proactive steps to protect their online profile, manage their consumer devices, and understand the best practices in e-commerce. Multi-Factor Authentication, updating privacy settings, creating strong passwords, and maintaining good cyber hygiene are just a few of the recommendations.

As a first step please read the linked flyer from the Department of Homeland Security on how to own your online privacy.
