Lynda.com helps users learn how to use various design programs (PhotoShop, Finalcut, InDesign, etc.) and create better finished products, be that images, videos, posters or web pages. Lynda.com is available in Jesup 204. Faculty can request a temporary account from Mika Hirai for use in their own office.
Workshops are taught by OIT staff in their area of expertise, and are open to the entire Williams community. Each workshop focuses on a given topic or application (Photoshop, HTML, etc.) and lasts anywhere from 15-90 minutes. Introductory workshops assume no prior experience and cover everything you need to know to get started.
Workshops offerings are posted four times a year: at the beginning of the Fall Semester, Winter Study, Spring Semester and Summer. If you missed a workshop you are interested in, it's very likely we will offer it again soon.If you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to request a workshop, please send us an email.
Click either the 'calendar' or 'list' link in the upper right, or on the workshop schedule icon. If you'd like to see all the classes at once, choose the list view. If you'd like to browse by month or by type of class (i.e. graphic design, programming), choose the calendar view.
From the list view, check the checkbox(es) to the left of the course(s) you'd like to enroll in, and click on the 'Sign Up' button. From the calendar view, click on the name of the workshop. A 'sign up' button will appear in the window that pops up. You'll be asked to log in- use your email user name and password. If you do not have a Williams account, but are still a member of the Williams community, email the instructor to let them know you'd like to attend.
