Mac OSX 10.11 El Capitan - OIT recommends waiting to update

Apple will be releasing the latest version of their operating system, El Capitan, on September 30. We currently recommend that you DO NOT upgrade for any computers used to access Williams systems.

El-Capitan is an update to Yosemite (10.10) with fixes, updates and a number of new features that will be available on existing hardware, as well as some that will take advantage of newer hardware found on the latest Apple devices and services. Initial testing shows that most software provided by Williams on our standard image and the software downloads page should run without issues. One notable exception is Sophos Anti-Virus. Sophos has promised to provide a compatible version shortly. In general, waiting for the first Apple OS update following the public release is a usually good idea.
