Movie Madness Returns for 2014
The MEC and OIT are pleased to announce the kick-off of our 2014 short film competition with a special listing of video and animation tutorials available to the entire campus through Lynda.com.
Never even touched a camera before? No problem! The tutorials listed below have been selected to cover the concepts & mechanics you will need to create amazing results. Tap into your creativity now! Win yourself a gleaming gold & purple “Billy” trophy as well as a new mini-iPad!

The competition itself is open for submissions now and will accept entries through Wednesday, February 5.
The categories for the competition this year are:
- Video: live camera or stop action (live) footage only (no animation!); 5 minutes or less; any topic.
- Animation: hand drawn or computer generated animation only (no live footage!); 5 minutes or less; any topic.
- Course work: Video, animation or mixed; must have been submitted in a course for credit. Less then 7 minutes; any topic.
- Best in Show: Judge’s choice of best video overall from all three categories.
The prize for each category this year is a mini-iPad! (or equivalent value media device, winner’s choice).

and more. It’s the primary destination for individual or small group training and support.
Location and Hours
The Media Education Center, Jesup 316, is physically located on the third floor of Jesup hall. It is open on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM. Staffed “Drop-in” support hours are currently 10AM – noon and 2 PM – 5 PM.
