Saturday, July 30th is OIT’s annual summer maintenance day. Between 5:30am and 9:30am there will be several Internet outages as we upgrade the equipment that connects us to the Internet. There will be one Internet Outage of up to 30 minutes, and 2-3 shorter outages of 2-5 minutes. Also, during that time our Peoplesoft and Alumni Advance applications will be offline as we update the storage that holds their data. Email access will only be affected during the Internet outages, if you are on campus.
For the rest of the day, between 9:30am and 5:00pm, we’ll be updating many of the systems and networks that serve you and the campus, we’ll also be testing some of our technical disaster recovery processes to make sure they work well in the event that we need to use them. We do not anticipate that you will notice this work, but we wanted to make you aware.
